Viewsonic VA1926w Review

We used DisplayMate to conduct a variety of tests on this monitor, ranging from Geometric Pattern tests to the Color Reproduction test (and everything in between)।

The Viewsonic VA1926w breezed through the screen geometry and distortion, sharpness and resolution, and screen pixel resolution test quite easily.

It delivers sharp pictures and great color reproduction without any bleeding or streaking of colors. The brightness and contrast levels were pretty good as well. But, as with almost all monitors, the VA1926w too shows a minute amount of mismatch with the red and green bands in the Horizontal Color Registration test.

As far as the OSD buttons are concerned, they're easy to use and let you fine tune certain aspects of the display to the best of your liking. Though, I'm sure the Auto Image Adjust feature will take care of anything an average user can think of.

We watched a few movies and played a multitude of games ranging from Counter Strike to Crysis using the VA1926w. Its 5ms response time ensures that there's no ghosting in games or in movies. Although it isn't as good as the VX, VP, or VG series from Viewsonic; it's great for the average consumer.

Pros:Build, Supports both DVI-D and D-Sub (VGA) input ports, Good picture quality, Contrast and color reproduction.
Cons:No bundled DVI-D cable, Mismatch in HCR test.

Verdict:

The Viewsonic VA1926w is available for Rs. 8,900(Delhi) with a 3-year warranty. For this price, it's a really good deal, but if you want something that gives a higher resolution and a faster response time along with a bundled DVI-D cable, spend 1500 bucks more and get yourself the VX1940w.

Its available even more cheaper in Chennai...

I have just posted the concluding part of the review to be specific about its results..,
